Cooking Instructions

Boil

Place frozen perogies in boiling water with 2 tbsp. (25 ml) butter. Set timer for 7 min. Stir occasionally. Drain. (If perogies break open, reduce cooking time). To prevent sticking, put butter or oil between each layer and place in covered dish to serve.

Pan fry

After boiling and thoroughly draining, or to reheat as leftovers, pan-fry in 350F (176C) oil or butter until golden brown on both sides.

Alternatively, you can also...

Deep Fry

Place frozen perogies in deep fryer at 325F (160C) for 4 to 5 minutes, or until golden brown.

RECIPE SUGGESTIONS

Garlic Dill Sour Cream

Add finely chopped fresh garlic and fresh dill (with the stems removed) to a container of sour cream. Add sea salt to your taste.

Make at least 24 hours in advance to allow the flavours to be absorbed by the sour cream.

Dessert Perogies (For use with Saskatoon or Strawberry perogies)

Boil according to directions. After thoroughly draining the water, add perogies to a pan of 250F (176C) butter. Sprinkle with brown sugar, and let them slightly caramelize. Add a splash of brandy and 35% cream, and reduce to desired consistency.
